Typically it takes about 3-4 days to ship from our warehouse. Once we have tracking information, then we can schedule the installation. Usually within a day or two of arrival.

    • HOW MUCH WEIGHT CAN THE ATTIC LIFT HANDLE?

The attic lift system can handle 200 lbs per lift. It runs at a speed of 3” per sec.

    • DO YOU PROVIDE INSTALLATION AS WELL?

Yes, we always recommend professional installers for garage and attic lifts. There is sometimes complicated electrical and mechanical requirements that require someone trained in these systems to understand.

    • DOES MY ATTIC NEED TO HAVE A FLOOR FOR AN ATTIC LIFT?
Yes. For access, loading and unloading, the top floor must be level and finished with 1/2 to 3/4-inch plywood or comparable material attic flooring systems before, or during, the installation process.
    • WHAT IS THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR AN ATTIC LIFT?

The recommended maximum weight for LiveWell's attic lift is 200 lbs.

    • WHAT ARE THE JOIST/CEILING DEPTH REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ATTIC LIFT?
LiveWell's attic lifts feature a unique 7-inch deep low-profile design that fits inside a framed opening in the attic floor. The location – including joist depth, ceiling drywall and attic floor thickness – If the joists are 7 inches to a maximum of 14 inches, measured from the finished ceiling of the lower level to the finished floor of the upper level – the lift will fit between the joists. If the floor joists are shorter than 7 inches, the lift will extend above the attic floor.
    • WHAT IS THE CEILING HEIGHT REQUIRED FOR A GARAGE LIFT?

The required ceiling height will vary depending on the lift model, as well as the intended vehicle. Scheduling a free in-home consultation with LiveWell Mobility is the best option so that our technicians can view your garage and offer the best options for your home.

    • DO I NEED A SPECIAL FLOOR OR FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT A GARAGE LIFT?
Most residential or commercial foundations are strong enough to support LiveWell's Garage lifts. However, it is important to adhere to concrete specifications. A level floor is suggested for proper installation and level lifting. With proper shimming, small differences in floor slopes may be compensated for.
  • Ramps

    • DO YOU HAVE SEVERAL STEPS TO ENTER YOUR HOUSE OR BUILDING?
Do you need to comply with ADA accessibility codes or just need easier access? We are creative with ramp options.  Custom wood ramps can be stained to match your exterior or we can build with premium materials for extended life.  Maintenance-free aluminum modular ramp systems are perfect for commercial buildings or homes.
    • IS IT DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE YOUR HOME WITH A WHEELCHAIR OR WALKER?
Are the thresholds getting into and around your house a challenge or dangerous? Sometimes we can modify or eliminate thresholds.  We may be able to install a small threshold ramp to eliminate a bump that is hanging you up.  Some thresholds are challenging to modify, but we have the experience and can design a perfect solution.
    • DO YOU LOSE YOUR BALANCE WHEN YOU TAKE A STEP?
Maybe you are afraid of tripping or falling and a handrail is not practical. We can evaluate your stepping hazard and recommend the perfect ramp.  It could be aluminum or a custom fabricated wood ramp.  We can work with your budget and your style.
  • Elevators

    • NEED HELP MOVING STORAGE, LAUNDRY, OR GROCERIES FROM FLOOR TO FLOOR?
A vertical lift is a convenient option that is becoming more common in homes. Elevators and lifts are not just for the wealthy with luxury homes. They are becoming more common for average homes as the cost of the elevator and space they take up are continuing to come down.
    • DO YOU WANT TO AVOID THE BIG CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF INSTALLING AN ELEVATOR?
A through-the-floor lift or vertical platform lift is a quick installation. Typical installation takes as little as two days with only minor modifications to your home.  Best of all, space-saving lifts don’t take away much of the useable area inside or outside of your home.
    • DO YOU STRUGGLE TO GET UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS?
A vertical lift or elevator can provide an easy way to access your whole home. Unlike a stairlift, a vertical lift is “life-proof.”  It can allow you access to your upstairs whenever you may temporarily use a wheelchair after a surgery or an on-set of a medical condition that makes sitting, standing, walking difficult.  It's an insurance policy for the future and a convenient benefit to the present.
  • Stairlifts

    • ARE YOU AT RISK OF INJURING YOURSELF?
Avoid falling and injuring yourself with a stairlift.
Once we get to a certain age, our bodies start to take longer to recover from injuries. A small injury now could cause you pain for years to come.
    • DO YOU NEED HELP CLIMBING THE STAIRS?
Get your independence back with a stairlift.
Give your loved ones back their peace of mind, too. You’re both putting yourselves in danger on the stairs when there’s a much safer option.
  • Scooters & Power Chairs

    • WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CENTER-WHEEL DRIVE AND REAR-WHEEL DRIVE POWER CHAIRS?

Center-wheel drive chairs offer users the most intuitive driving but place the drive wheels directly underneath the user. Center-wheel drive allows the user to turn the power chair in its own space, meaning that whatever the footrest clears, the rear caster wheels will clear when turning in a complete circle. Center-wheel drive chairs are preferable in tight indoor spaces.

Rear-wheel drive chairs have a larger turning radius meaning you need more space to turn the chair in a complete circle or navigate in tight indoor spaces.

    • CAN I PULL SOMETHING BEHIND MY SCOOTER?
Scooters are only designed to transport one individual and their personal items. You should not exceed the weight capacity of the scooter. Scooters are not designed to pull anything behind them.
    • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHARGE MY BATTERY?
We recommend you charge your battery overnight. This allows for a full 6 to 8-hour charge and you know you'll be fully mobile in the morning.
    • WHAT'S THE TRAVEL RANGE OF SCOOTERS AND POWER CHAIRS? HOW FAST DO THEY GO?
Travel speeds range from 4 mph to 8 mph. They have a travel range of 8 miles to 18 miles. The Off Road series has the fastest speed and longest range.
  • Patient Lifts

    • HOW MUCH DOES THE PORTABLE LIFT WEIGH?

LiveWell’s portable patient lift weighs under 11 lbs and can be easily transported. Combine this with our free-standing track system and you can set up an overhead lift system in a matter of minutes. The free-standing track system components all weigh under 17 lbs and the entire system is only 47 lbs. This is great for going out of town and setting up in a hotel or a family member's home. Plus this portable system can support up to 300 lbs.

    • DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO STAND TO USE A SIT-TO-STAND DEVICE?
Our Sit-to-Stand devices are designed for those that have trouble standing. The device supports the feet, back, and lower legs to help you get to that standing position. Then you can choose to walk under your own power or be transported with the device to another sitting position. This device improves the safety for caregivers and family members that are often relied upon to help a person stand.
    • HOW DO I CHOOSE THE PROPER SLING?

Fabric: The sling fabric choice is important. For instance, if there is a possibility of the sling getting wet from incontinence or bathing, then a mesh fabric is ideal. If you have sensitive skin and require more comfort, then a padded sling may be better.

Shape: Livewell’s hammock slings are full-body slings that support the entire body including the head. Our Universal slings are the most popular due to their ability to support a person whether seated, reclined, or supine. LiveWell also offers hygiene slings with an open bottom for toileting and providing an easier way of removing clothing from a patient.

Size: The fit of the sling is critical to the safety and comfort of the patient. By understanding your weight and height, we can fit you in the proper sized sling.

    • HOW DO I DECIDE BETWEEN A FLOOR LIFT, PORTABLE OVERHEAD LIFT, OR CEILING LIFT?
Ceiling lifts are a permanent fixture in the home; they use a track system mounted to the ceiling. The benefit is that it takes up no floor space and it is always there when needed. Portable overhead lifts can be transferred and set up very easily. If you need a solution that you can take anywhere then a portable lift may be best. A floor lift gives you the versatility of transferring someone in nearly limitless locations. Because floor lifts run on wheels, floors need to be flat with limited thresholds or obstacles.
  • Ramps

    • MY THRESHOLD OR STEP IS NOT PERFECTLY VERTICAL, CAN I STILL USE A THRESHOLD RAMP?
Door thresholds are very challenging and traditional rubber, some aluminum, and foam ramps do not work well.  Because we have worked with numerous different thresholds we can work with you to determine the best type of ramp to overcome your hazard.
    • HOW LONG OF A RAMP DO I NEED?
The length of the ramp is determined by the height of the step or steps that you are trying to overcome.  ADA guidelines recommend a minimum 1:12 ratio for length to height.  So, this means that for every 1 inch in height, you will need 12 inches in length.  However, there are other things to consider.  Some people struggle propelling themselves up a 1:12 ramp, so a longer ramp may be necessary.  In residential applications, compliance with ADA guidelines is not required. Shorter ramps may be better — particularly if you don’t have space for a longer ramp or you have a caregiver to push someone up the ramp.
    • HOW DO I CHOOSE BETWEEN WOOD OR AN ALUMINUM RAMP?

One choice is simply the design preference.  Some of our clients do not like the look of an aluminum ramp in front of their home.

Another factor is the maintenance of the ramp.  All ramps will need some maintenance over time, however wood ramps may need to be stained or treated to guard against insect damage and rot.  Cedar or pressure-treated lumber holds up much better if the ramp is exposed to the weather.  Also, if you're looking for less maintenance, but a wood look, you might consider composite materials (which have a very long life) for the decking.  Aluminum ramps are very durable with minimal maintenance.

    • HOW MUCH DO RAMPS COST?
Simple threshold ramps can range from under $100. Aluminum ramps can range from $100 – to thousands of dollars. Wood ramps can be built for as little as $200 whereas larger straight ramps typically run $500 - $3000 depending on the materials chosen and design.
  • Vehicle Lifts

    • HOW DO I SCHEDULE INSTALLATION OF THE VEHICLE LIFT?
We make this very simple. Just call LiveWell and we will find a convenient day that we can come to your house for installation. You don’t need to bring your vehicle to us!
    • WHERE DOES MY LIFT GET ITS POWER?
Typically, the lift is wired directly to the vehicle’s battery for power. A secondary option is to order an optional battery supply to keep the unit independent from the battery.
    • WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A TRAILER HITCH?
If you have an SUV, van, or crossover vehicle, an inside lift may be a good solution. Otherwise, we can refer you to some vehicle modification partners that can install a hitch on your vehicle.
    • HOW MUCH ROOM DOES THE HITCH MOUNTED LIFT TAKE UP? CAN I PARK MY VEHICLE IN MY GARAGE?
Many of the lifts fold up out of the way to reduce the overall length of the vehicle. We can work with your specific vehicle and the proper lift to advise on the overall impact of the lift.
    • IS MY TRAILER HITCH RATED FOR THE WEIGHT OF MY MOBILITY DEVICE?
Livewell’s Accessibility Consultants can help you determine if your hitch has the proper weight rating for your mobility device.
  • Elevators

    • HOW DO I DECIDE WHO TO BUY AN ELEVATOR FROM?

You should be careful with the "gotcha" pricing that shows up when you search for elevators on the internet.  These are typically online retailers that drop-ship elevators to your doorstep, then hire a fly-by-night installer that may or may not be factory-trained or licensed and disappears after the installation.  When you need service, you are left with a long wait and a much higher service cost.

The better option is to purchase from a local dealer that has been chosen by the manufacturer to represent them in that region.  Local dealers should show proof of their elevator contractor’s license and have factory-trained technicians on staff.  Due to their involvement in the community and their desire to keep a good local reputation, they are typically very good at providing affordable installation and service.

LiveWell Mobility and Modifications represents several elevator manufacturers with factory-trained technicians and is a licensed elevator contractor.

    • WHAT DO I DO IF MY ELEVATOR OR LIFT STOPS WORKING?
Elevators are considerably reliable products due to the rigorous elevator safety standards that they must meet.  However, they are an electromechanical machine that does need routine maintenance and occasionally can have a hiccup.  If this occurs, we recommend a quick call to the elevator contractor who installed the elevators.  Typically, they can troubleshoot basic issues over the phone.  If more complex, then the elevator contractor would send a technician to your home to troubleshoot the machine and get it working again.  If you cannot get in touch with the contractor, then a call to the manufacturer will ensure the approved service technician can be dispatched.
    • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL AN ELEVATOR?

The length of time it takes to have an elevator installed depends on the type of elevator, the space that is available to accommodate the lift, the delivery time, and the installation time.

      • Traditional home elevators installed in the construction phase are relatively quick — taking 2-3 days. If the home elevator hoistway is preinstalled, then it may take an extra day or two to prep the shaft prior to installation. Through-the-floor lifts take as little as 1-2 days with only minor modifications to the home. Vertical platform lifts and inclined lifts can take only a day to install.
      • If a hoistway must be built, then rooms may require modification, and HVAC and electrical may need to be relocated. In that case, the time to prep the hoistway can take 1-3 weeks. If the hoistway is constructed on the outside of the house, that also adds to the construction time.
      • The delivery time on an elevator and lift ranges from 3-4 weeks for a traditional home elevator, to less than a week for a through-the-floor elevator or vertical platform lift that are more modular than customized.
    • HOW MUCH SPACE DOES AN ELEVATOR TAKE UP?

A decent size traditional home elevator needs approximately 5ft by 5ft hoistway, which is typically the size of a medium closet. If the internal space does not exist, then an elevator and shaft can be added to the outside of a house.

A more convenient, space-saving option is the through-the-floor lift by LiveWell. Through-the-floor elevators take up only a 3ft by 3ft floor space – and that is when it is on that floor. When on another floor, the space where the elevator sits is open.

    • HOW MUCH DOES A VERTICAL LIFT COST?
Vertical platform lifts start near $8,000 to $10,000 and go up based on quality, options, and overall height.  Through-the-floor lifts are an affordable alternative for inside the home and can range from $20,000 to $30,000.  Traditional home elevators range from around $25,000 to $100,000 depending on how much construction is needed to create the hoistway.

    • CAN STAIRLIFTS GO AROUND BENDS IN THE STAIRS?

Then, when you order your stairlift, the precise measurements of your staircase are sent to the factory where work begins on your rail. You'll love the rails for curved stairs: they take up as little space on your stairs as possible, by fitting them as close to the edge of your stairs as we can; as smooth as possible, to give you a smoother ride; easily installable, by making a scale model of your stairs in our factory, so we can make sure it fits before it leaves us. • Lift Chairs

    • WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TWO-POSITION AND THREE-POSITION LIFT CHAIR?

With a two-position lift chair, when the chair is reclining and the footrest is going up, the angle between the backrest and the seat does not change. With a three-position lift chair, when the chair is reclining and the footrest is going up, the backrest reclines back farther, opening the angle between the backrest and the seat. The chair can recline more fully into a “sleeper” or “napper” position.

    • DO YOU HAVE ANY CHAIRS THAT FEATURE THE TRENDELENBURG POSITION?

The Trendelenburg position may be recommended by doctors to improve circulation in the legs. In the Trendelenburg position, the body is laid flat on the back on a 15–30 degree incline with the feet elevated above the head.  Chairs with the patented Twilight Technology offer the Trendelenburg position.

    • WHAT’S THE PRICE OF A LIFT CHAIR?
Therapeutic lift chairs pricing starts a little higher than the price of a standard recliner in your local furniture store. The price will depend on the features, options, and fabrics you choose. Lift chairs are covered by Part B of your Medicare coverage. They are considered durable medical equipment (DME) used to treat certain conditions like arthritis, balance, and mobility issues.
