LiveWell just recently completed a master bathroom remodel that is stunning! This family contacted LiveWell after the father had a stroke and was having difficulties moving around his home. His daughter and her family were also moving in to help take care of him during his recovery. The home needed to be modified to comfortably fit the two families, but also to make it safer for him to go about his everyday living activities.
The bathroom had a very small shower that wasn't feasible anymore for his assistance devices. LiveWell knocked out the bathtub and the existing shower to install a beautiful, zero-entry shower that allows for a walker or wheelchair with no obstruction.
Removing the shower and tub allowed for an extra-large, zero-entry shower to be installed. This was a custom shower with beautiful white/grey tile chosen by the customer.
We also installed several niches in the walls for convenience. A handheld shower head was installed as well. You will notice that there is a handle to turn the shower on and off at the very front entrance of the shower. This is to turn the shower on so that the water can get warm without the homeowner getting soaked walking into the shower.
We also replaced the existing vanity with a wheelchair accessible vanity. The cabinets open and a piece slides out to allow for a wheelchair to roll safely underneath. The piece can also be inserted to use as a standard vanity, as well. There two closets that were combined into one by removing the wall in between. Is this closet not fabulous? LiveWell also installed a standing grab bar for extra support in the closet.
Lastly, we moved the toilet closet wall and installed a pocket door for extra space. We also added a sliding barn door for the bathroom entry.

This bathroom and closet far exceeded our expectations! The color combination of tile that was chosen and the beautiful vanities is just stunning! This family now has a safe and accessible bathroom that also increases the homes overall resell value. We hope that they are happy here for many years to come!
