The Deep Freeze in Texas Couldn’t Reach Our Hearts

Recently Texas experienced its coldest weather in a century. The winter storm caused electrical outages and the failure of the power grid. The cold temperatures and loss of power had devastating effects on people and their houses. Temperatures were below freezing across the state and the number of people impacted is staggering.

Since homes in Texas are not built to withstand the bitter cold, we knew that frozen and burst pipes would be a huge problem. And of course, when temperatures get above freezing, water damage is inevitable. If you’ve ever seen the Grand Canyon, you have an idea of how powerful (and destructive) water can be.

LiveWell Mobility is a provider of home modifications for aging in place and that means we have a professional team who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to repair burst pipes and the kinds of issues water damage causes.

We reached out to our customers and offered our services to help with plumbing issues and provide resources for repair.

Our first save was to fix a plumbing issue for Ms. Nancy who had gone 11 days without water.

Another of our customers, who was fortunate to escape any damages from the storm at her own home, asked us to reach out to her friend who did have damage and needed a licensed plumber and then a team to complete the repairs from the water damage.

The following sequence of pictures shows you what we were able to do.

BEFORE: Terrible damage to the ceiling and walls.
